A Chapter of a Confrérie (Association or Brotherhood) - Définition :
It is an assembly of members who meet under the auspice of the presidents, the grand master,
and his/her officiers, once a year to hold an "induction ceremony" for new recruits.
This ceremony welcomes friends from other confreries, there are more than 800 in France,
each one resplendent in their respective costumes, to add to the occasion.
Nominations for new members are considered and chosen by the host committee as being worthy
to carry the tittles of chevalier (knight).
Following a ritual precise and peculiar to each confrérie, the new recruits take an oath, receive
a diploma and medallion and are sworn to defend and promote the product/produce peculiar to that confrérie.
